On October 13, early in the morning, the Steimle Architects team set off in the direction of Vorarlberg. A first stop was made in Wangen im Allgäu. There the team from Überlingen was collected and together they visited the construction site of the sports and multi-purpose hall in Wangen. The Überlingen office is working flat out to ensure that the project will be ready for the opening of BuGa 2024 in Wangen. The hall and its newly designed surroundings are the prelude to the Federal Horticultural Show.
Strengthened, the bus headed for Lustenau, where the Baumschlager Eberle office provided insight into their innovative office building. The building, which was completed about 10 years ago, manages completely without a heating system and always maintains an optimal indoor climate for a wide variety of uses, from doctors to fitness studios. A small time buffer also allowed a look at the nearby office building of Marte.Marte. Both offices appeared a second time over the weekend.
For now, however, the bus continued on to InnauerMatt's kindergarten, which impresses with its charming wooden details. Now it was time to move into the magnificent accommodation.
The ten chalets of the Peterhof in Zwischenwasser stand picturesquely in the landscape. The weather conjured up the complex designed by Baumschlager Eberle in a golden autumn light. The next morning we went, uphill - downhill in a somewhat wet hike to the refuge of Marte.Marte.
The afternoon also followed the work of the Marte.Marte. In Feldkirch, the team visited the old castle that has been rebuilt by Marte.Marte and is now used as a small resettlement office. After a gingantic excursion and gigantic schnitzels at the Schattenburg, the team returned to Stuttgart and Überlingen with many new impressions.
The Markolfhalle in Markelfingen was inaugurated at the weekend. After the old sports hall burned down five years ago, the sustainable wooden building is now ready as a new focal point for sports and events. The hall can accommodate 700 people in seating in addition to gymnastics, ball sports and gymnastics. The timber hybrid building, with its striking timber-frame structure, embeds itself in the surrounding landscape and shines with chic details both inside and out.
Nuremberg lets its blue ribbon
Fluttering through the air again...
Our Technical University in Nuremberg shines in a petrol blue facade dress and brings some cheerful color mood to the end of summer.
Last week, the shell of the fire station in Überlingen was completed. The building, which has been pushed into the hillside, is characterized by its round canopy, which will later protect the firefighters from wind and weather. We are looking forward to further construction progress in Überlingen.
The Administration Office Bad Kissingen is shortlisted for the Heinze Award 2023! We are pleased about the nomination!
The administrative district of Stuttgart has published 2023 Building+ Economy, Architecture of the Region in the Mirror. The book features not one but two projects by Steimle Architekten that are currently in the planning stage. Fire Station 1 South, which was decided at the end of 2022, is still at the very beginning of the planning phase. In the middle of the Stuttgart Heusteigviertel, the old building in need of renovation is to be demolished in order to integrate a new, contemporary fire department with administration into the historic stock of the surroundings.
Also in focus, the district house in Stuttgart Stammheim. The first work has already started on site for the open community center, which is being built in the immediate vicinity of Stammheim Castle. The traditional gable roof blends in with the typical local architecture. The modern lamella facade with integrated PV modules reinterprets the gable roof house.
The summer hole in two versions. While our citizens from Überlingen can jump into the lake during their lunch break, Stuttgart's children cool off in the fountains at the Marktplatz. One or the other says goodbye to their summer vacation while the somewhat different (summer) holes continue to be built and planned on construction sites and plans.
We are celebrating 5000 days of Steimle Architekten today. 5000 days are gone, when Thomas Steimle opened the doors at Marktplatz 5 in Stuttgart. Meanwhile Christine Steimle is also a partner, a second office in Überlingen, lake of constance opened, and the Stuttgart office moved to Marktplatz 6 and 10.
Since 5000 days architects at Steimle Architekten are working at present on around thirdy projects. 5000 days with emotions and hapiness for architecture. To the next 5000 days!
Here the line becomes the house! The new SWR Studio Mannheim - Ludwigshafen records further milestones in its completion. After the building has already been standing for a few weeks with a finished shell, the interior construction continues to progress. The staircase, clearly designed with white railings and exposed concrete, already give an idea of the clean structures of the new studio. The heated and cooled ceiling has already been installed on the office floors and the raised floor has been partially laid. But the exterior of the studio is also gradually approaching its final state. The white pilaster strips are currently being installed on the facade.
In five minute updates you can see the progress on the swr website. While not every five minute a real change is seeable, sometimes it is intressted to watch out here for an update.
