The guiding idea of the design is the tension between a powerful new building and the historic town hall, which forms a new overall ensemble with a great identification effect in the heart of Steinheim an der Murr. The new building is based on the structure of the historic town hall. It takes up the theme of the massive plinth on which a contemporary wooden building is erected. The colour scheme with the grey plinth and the earthy red tones also strengthens the ensemble character.
On the 15th Februray the Stuttgarter Zeitung published an article with the titel "ten of the prettiest houses in the region of stuttgart". Our residental house E20 in Pliezhausen is one of them. We were particularly pleased, that the journalists take there time to talk with the builders how they live in there homes. And after all the years in his polygonal house, he said, that he ever want to come home an say "wow", now he can.
Under the following link you can see the ten dreamhouses in stutgarts region.

The design competition for the Schlossgarten Hotel between the park and the main railway station already took place at the end of 2022. Now LBBW has announced that they will be renovating the project with Steimle Architekten in the coming years. Particular attention is being paid to dealing with the existing buildings, which are to be preserved in their distinctive character and only renovated with a few interventions in a sustainable and future-oriented way.
A few of our colleagues didn't want to miss the company day at the Ege Trans Arena. On 20 January, we went on a different kind of excursion to the Steelers in Bietigheim. An exciting game against the Iserlohn Roosters with beer, sport and fun.
On 24 January, LBBW announced its plans for Königstraße in Stuttgart. Several of the buildings that form the prelude from the main railway station to the shopping street in Stutgart will be renovated in the coming years. Last autumn, the design competition for the renovation of the traditional Schlossgarten Hotel was already underway and Steimle Architekten came out on top. The façade will be renovated under sustainable aspects without changing the traditional appearance. The ground floor zone will be made more public and will invite people to linger in the future. The excitement about the new hotel is growing. So far, we can only look forward to the publication in the Stuttgater Nachrichten and the Stuttgarter Zeitung.
Steimle Architekten would like to thank you for the nice article in the Stuttgarter Zeitung about the residential buildings of the year 2022. Included was our Half-Long-Charles in Ludwigsburg. A residential development with 18 barrier-free units located at Ludwigsburg railway station. The composition of the buildings creates an enhanced outdoor space and private living areas, so that in the end even our building owners, Strenger holding, moved in there themselves.
The stories surrounding the project name "Half-Long-Charles" are getting more and more bizarre - but to be clear - this is not our architectural jargon ;)
The district of Stuttgart Stammheim has not yet evoked any positive associations, especially outside of Swabia. The city of Stuttgart now wants to change this and, with a competition decided in 2020, is having a forward-looking, sustainable district house built here. The timber hybrid building comes close to its historic neighbour and stands out in contrast to it with its bright PV panel façade. Sustainability is at the forefront of the new district house, which will later house a café and various multi-purpose rooms in addition to an event hall on the first floor. The building owners are paying particular attention to energy efficiency and sustainable materials. In Stammheim, space has already been made to trust the Schlossscheurer to its neighbours.
The team of Steimle Architekten wishes you a peaceful holiday season and a happy new year 2023. We would like to thank you for many wonderful collaborations, building assignments and exciting projects in the past year and look forward to a successful and happy 2023.
