The building outline is already visible

Things are getting exciting on the construction site in Markelfingen, now a district of Radolfzell on Lake Constance. After many months of processing and planning, work on the construction site already started a few months ago. The concrete base and walls of the sports and multi-purpose hall on the slope have already been concreted. Three weeks ago, the wooden frame elements made of spruce were erected. Now the building's contour is becoming progressively visible. The 21m long, freely spanning wooden girders of the roof structure have also arrived at the construction site and are ready for assembly. The exterior wall elements made of cross laminated timber are being erected at the same time. Starting next week, the solid ceiling and interior wall elements will be installed. The entire timber construction should be completed by the topping-out ceremony at the end of June.

A new facade for Gunzenhausen

If everything went well, sucessfull competitions get to projects. Our projects develop through the planing stage. We always try to stay with the idea of the competition while we try to make the building stronger and more optimized by the time. A good example is the district office in Gunzenhausen. Meanwhile we are planing a wood-hybrid building overthere. See more on our nnew visualisations from Filippo Bolognese

Nice out here - Architecture in rural areas

The developments in architecture are not only to be found in the ever higher, ever larger cities. More and more unique, functional and innovative architectural building blocks are also being created in rural regions. There are no limits here, from organic farms to town halls. Our barn library in Kressbronn on Lake Constance may also travel along in the travelling exhibition. Under the title "Schön hier" (Beautiful here), the Deutsches Architektur Museum in cooperation with the Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark present the exhibition on architecture in villages. The exhibition opens on 1 May 2022 in the open-air museum in Anspach.
"Increasingly, attention is being paid to rural regions as a center of life. They are places to live and work. Architecture can be an expression of valuing something; it can, in the best cases, generate a sense of confidence. For this reason, it is worthwhile to commit not just to many small construction tasks but also to entire village cores."

Here comes the concrete

The construction site of the SWR on the banks of the Neckar River in Mannheim is progressing in leaps and bounds. Currently, the formwork for the development core on the 1st floor is being erected. Meanwhile, the last masonry walls are being completed in the basement. And in the right light, a construction site can even look like a small art exhibition. For a daily update you can also visit the site of the SWR in their webcam
