The new building for the professional fire brigade of Fire Station 1 South in Stuttgart consists of an ensemble of two lively building blocks in timber construction on a massive fire brigade base that frames the courtyard and forms a green slab on top that invites visitors to stay.
The ensemble asserts itself independently within the existing structure and transforms the existing division of the neighbouring buildings into the present day. The ensemble interacts with the surrounding houses through the division into the 2-storey base zone, the upper storey areas and the pergola - roof zone.
